A Fortuner car and a container collided head-on on Saturday morning, 200 meters ahead of the toll in the Fatehabad area on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. The occupants of the car, Naveen Singhal (60), owner of Singhal Steels, Ghaziabad, and his friend, property businessman Anil Goyal (65), were killed, while his son-in-law and another were injured in the accident. The accident took place around 7:45 am at the 21st kilometer of the expressway toll. Anil Goyal, a resident of Patel Nagar, Pilkhua Road, Hapur, was going to Bageshwar Dham. Had to participate in the marriage program of the girls there. On Saturday morning at around 5:30 am, he had left the house in his Fortuner car with son-in-law Anshul Mittal. Friend Naveen Singhal also boarded the car along with Anil from Ghaziabad. Srinivas, a resident of Ghaziabad, was driving the car.
Fatehabad police said that after crossing the Fatehabad toll, the businessman’s car went out of control and came towards the Lucknow road. Then there was a head-on collision between the container and the car that came from the front. The collision was so strong that the front part of the car was blown away. The container also overturned uncontrollably. Anshul was sitting on the front seat along with Srinivas, while Naveen and Anil were on the back seat. All four were brought to SN Medical College emergency. Anil Goyal was declared dead in emergency, while treatment of others including Naveen was started. On information, the relatives of the businessman living in Agra came. Naveen Singhal was taken to the hospital at Dehli Gate, where he was declared brought dead. Anshul is being treated at Sikandra’s private hospital and Srinivas at the emergency.
